Monica began practicing yoga as another workout option that was easier on the body than running or weights but continues to practice because of what it gives her mentally, physically and spiritually. Yoga challenges her in a way mentally and physically that no other workout had before, yet she leaves the mat each day feeling happy and balanced. Monica completed her 200 hour training certification through YogaWorks in June 2012.

Jennifer Lee

Jennifer took her first yoga class about 10 years ago. She liked the fact that she could actually slow down and still get a good workout. As a mother of 3, yoga was a really nice break and she did as much of it as she could. Jennifer’s hunger to learn more grew. So, she signed up for a yoga journal conference and took classes with Shiva Rea, Sean Corn, Cindy Lee, and other nationally known teachers. Shortly after she got back, Jennifer signed up for yoga teacher training through yogafit and started teaching in the year 2004 at Lifetime Fitness. Her desire to teach and learn has continued to grow. She has taken the 200 hour training at Corepower, completed trainings through Lifetime Fitness, and continues to take classes as much as possible.

Shannon Brendel

Hi, my name is Shannon. I added yoga to raising 3 kids, 2 dogs, running, biking and striving to keep fit 2 years ago. Its been a great addition to my life giving me focus and clarity but also strength and endurance. I seek to teach people in an authentic, approachable way. I would love to help guide you in classes at Heat Yoga! Shannon completed her 200 hour yoga certification through YogaWorks in June 2012.

HEAT C is a set sequence of postures linking breath and movement (vinyasa), this class moves at moderate pace. This class differs from our Heat A or Heat B by offering 4 different peak pose options. The set poses will change based on the peak pose chosen by your teacher. Classes begin with warm up movements (Sun Salutations) while cultivating awareness of breath control. The series of postures improve flexibility, strength, posture, balance and mind-body awareness, while enjoying a deep sense of calm. The heat allows for a safe, deep loosening of the muscles and joints, mobilizes and strengthens the spine and stimulates and detoxifies the internal organs. Emphasis on balance and strengthening core, twists, chest muscles.
Peak pose may include arm balancing, inversions, and deep back bends with detailed cuing to help the newest yogi as well as a yogi veteran wanting to know another way to enhance their practice. This is a great option to lead you into more advanced classes like Intermediate, Power Vinyasa Flow or Rocket.
